Healing takes awhile. Sometimes it takes months to years to completely heal from something. This is what I've learned in life over the past three years or so. There is no solid timeline to when the healing will start and the hurt will end. It's something you take day by day and one day, maybe you'll reach the light at the end of the tunnel and learn that you're finally moving on.
Healing is a long process. It's not something that will kickstart tomorrow. No amount of hurt, whether it's small or large will guarantee a time frame for you to finally 'get over it' as they say. Can you ever truly get over it? That's a question I've asked myself a lot. The healing process requires long nights crying out to God or writing in your journal. It requires seeking His word. Oh, and it also requires forgiveness, the hardest part to wrestle with, especially when you know you were the one wronged. But I know Christ calls us to forgive. I pray that one day, sooner than later, I'll get there.
I'm healing from a lot. I know you probably are too. It's a process but in the grueling process of pain, hurt, and forgiveness, God is carrying. you. He's working this out for your good. That's a truth I have to constantly remind myself of. He saw this coming. He knew it was going to happen. He has a purpose. All we have to do is give it to God and trust him.
Friend, I know it's a challenge. It's hard to give these situations of hurt to God. Surrender can leave is in a vulnerable state but there is sweetness in surrender. There is freedom in surrender. Healing is a process and its long suffering but God is still good. He's still in control of every aspect of our lives. He's in the healing and he wants us to get there. He wants to refine us and grow us. He is the potter and we are the clay. These situations in life were never meant to be easy, but in them, we grow and God shapes us into the person he's created us to be.
We are dust. We are human. We are sinners. But God's grace is sufficient for us that even while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Hurt is real. Pain is hard to move on from. But the one thing I know in all of this, is that the Lord is our shepherd. He is our Rock. He is our redeemer. He is our safe place. When you are hurt, run to him. When you are weary, draw close to him. When you are wondering how you can forgive that person who's wronged you, ask Him to help him. Ask him to soften your heart. Pray for that person.
They say time heals, and I think this can be true. But only if it's truly the goal. Time grows the seeds that are planted, watered, and fertilized.. If the goal isn't to heal, darling, you never will.
Healing is a process but God is faithful through it all.
Healing is a process but God will carry us through it.
He is our rock. He is our redeemer. People may fail but our God never will.
"He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength... those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint" - Isaiah 40:29,31
